Pellets with properties suitable for bottom-dwelling fish: fast sinking and strong water resistance. Bottom-dwelling fish such as carp, grass carp, and black carp primarily feed at the bottom of the water column, requiring feed that sinks quickly and remains stable in water without disintegrating. Dry fish feed production equipment produces sinking feed with a compact structure due to its "no additional water supply + high-pressure extrusion" puffing characteristics. This results in fast sinking (3-5 seconds), water resistance for 8-12 hours, and a fish consumption rate of over 95%. For example, in grass carp feed production, a dry extruder generates 4-6 MPa high pressure through high-speed screw rotation. The raw material melts due to frictional heat within the extrusion chamber, and the pressure drops sharply upon extrusion from the die, resulting in highly compact pellets that do not disintegrate even after soaking in water for 10 hours. If a wet extruder is used, the resulting pellets have a loose structure due to additional water supply, strong buoyancy, slow sinking speed, and a water resistance of only 3-5 hours. Feed waste can exceed 20%, and it can also pollute the water.

Stable Feed Quality: Uniform Extrusion Meets Conventional Aquaculture Needs. Small and medium-sized fish farms producing conventional aquatic feed do not require high extrusion ratios but prioritize quality stability. The Dry Fish Feed Pellet Extruder Machine precisely meets this requirement. Although the temperature fluctuation of the frictional heating method in dry extruders is slightly greater than that in wet extruders, stable feed quality control can be achieved by reasonably adjusting the screw speed (300-400 r/min) and feed rate. Pellet size uniformity reaches over 90%, and the extrusion ratio is controlled at 1.5-2.5 times, fully meeting the requirements of conventional aquatic feed. For example, a small fish farm used a dry extruder to produce mixed feed for carp and crucian carp. After 10 consecutive batches, the pellet uniformity fluctuation did not exceed 5%, the feed conversion ratio remained stable at 1.5-1.6, the fish growth rate was uniform, and the survival rate increased to 98%.

Simplified Production Process: No Subsequent Drying Process Required. Dry-type fish feed pellet processing machines produce feed pellets with a moisture content directly controlled at 10%-12%, eliminating the need for additional drying processes. The pellets can be directly discharged for storage or use, simplifying the production process and improving efficiency. In contrast, wet extruders produce pellets with a moisture content as high as 18%-22%, requiring additional drying equipment to reduce the moisture content to below 12%. Otherwise, the pellets are prone to mold growth, increasing energy costs and causing nutrient loss. For example, producing one ton of carp feed takes only 10-15 minutes from raw material input to finished product output with a dry extruder; however, with the addition of a drying process, a wet extruder takes 30-40 minutes, significantly reducing production efficiency.
