Pet Food Extrusion Machine
A feed extruder is a piece of equipment used for processing animal feeds. It alters the physical and chemical properties of feed ingredients through high-temperature, high-pressure conditions and mechanical shear forces to enhance their solubility, digestibility, and texture, thereby improving feed utilization by animals.
Working Principle
A feed extruder works by pushing feed ingredients into an extrusion screw and then subjecting them to high temperatures and pressures to extrude the materials. During extrusion, the materials expand and generate heat, causing starch gelatinization and protein denaturation, thereby increasing their solubility and digestibility.
Processing Equipment Components
- Meat Grinder: Processing scope: Pulverising raw materials such as fruit, vegetables, and fresh meat.

- Mixer: Blending and mixing crushed raw materials.

- Dryer: Hot-air dryer offering rapid drying efficiency and energy savings. Dried feed can be stored for 18-24 months.
- Flavouring Machine: Enhances dried feed by adding fats and flavourings, increasing protein and fat content.
Floating Fish Feed Extruder Process Application
As is well known, aquaculture and animal feed pellets are produced by diesel-powered fish feed extruders. Examples include dog food, cat food, frog feed, turtle feed, crab feed, shrimp feed, and various fish (catfish, tropical fish) feeds. Various shapes of pellets can be produced simply by changing the feeder's die. Furthermore, these pellets range in size from 0.4 mm to 15 mm, suitable for fish of all sizes.
